Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to join the Lighting Sector Team in Union City, CA.
As Product Manager, you will guide the product development life cycle from cradle to grave by identifying potential products; conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, and facilitate plans for product introduction.
This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new products for the company to improving or developing processes for onboarding new technologies.
You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and industry experts.
This person will possess a unique blend of business, people and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.
Communicate with all areas of the company.
Communication is critical in the role of Product Manager.
This person will be tasked with defining, developing and managing products and must engage teams in every aspect of the development process.
This person will be the expert and champion both internally and externally for your products and will be required to communicate the product line’s values.
This person will be required to use your interpersonal skills to influence team members across multiple functions.
What Will You Do?
Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
Listening to key voices in the industry.
Driving the development and execution of a product solution across all cross-functional teams from market requirements through launch.
Supporting additional strategic efforts within the company.
Qualifications:
Required Skills
Engineering, Marketing or Business degree.
Minimum 3 years of marketing,product management or engineering experience.
Preferred Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills.
Previous product,project/ program management or product marketing experience a plus.
Excellent communicator and listener.
This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites in (10%).
Knowledgeable in building controls and/or lighting highly valued.
