As our Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role, responsible for recruiting, supervising, supporting, and celebrating Meal Site Coordinators, Meal Handlers, and volunteers.
This dynamic position involves training the team of volunteers located at partner sites throughout Alameda County to establish a welcoming, safe environment while ensuring strict compliance with regulations.

_*Primary Responsibilities*_ *Volunteer Management:* *● Recruitment and Onboarding* ○ Develop effective strategies for recruiting volunteers, with a focus on Meal Site Coordinators and Meal Handlers ○ Conduct comprehensive volunteer orientations and training sessions *● Team Supervision and Support:* ○ Develop and implement volunteer schedules, ensuring full coverage for meal preparation, distribution, and related activities ○ Provide ongoing support to Volunteers ○ Coordinate various engaging and motivational volunteer rewards, activities and projects ○ Establish and maintain open lines of communication with volunteers ○ Foster a positive and collaborative team environment *● Compliance and Safety:* ○ Ensure all volunteers understand and adhere to safety regulations and organizational policies *● Celebration and Recognition:* ○ Plan and organize events to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of volunteers ○ Implement recognition programs to appreciate the dedication of the volunteer team *● Documentation and Reporting:* ○ Keep accurate records of volunteer hours, activities, and achievements in our database ○ Generate timely reports on volunteer participation and impact for organizational leadership _*Community Engagement:*_ *● Outreach and Promotion:* ○ Develop and execute outreach strategies to attract new senior meal participants and volunteers, engaging with the local community through various channels (social media, events, etc.
) ○ Collaborate with outreach or development teams to create promotional materials highlighting the organization's mission and volunteer opportunities ○ Represent the organization at community events, fairs, and networking sessions to promote volunteer engagement and the meal program *● Partnership Development:* ○ Identify, establish, and nurture relationships with local businesses, corporations, and community organizations ○ Collaborate with potential partners to develop sponsorship opportunities, donations, or in-kind support for the meal program ○ Seek out and leverage corporate volunteer programs to engage employees in supporting our cause *Program Enhancement:* ● Continuously assess volunteer program effectiveness, proposing and implementing improvements where necessary ● Gather feedback from volunteers, seniors, and staff to enhance program quality ● Assist in the development and execution of strategies to expand meal services to more seniors in need *Additional Responsibilities:* ● Perform other duties as assigned The minimum qualifications, dress code, physical demands and work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that must be met or will be encountered by an employee while performing the primary responsibilities of this job.

*We Need Someone Who Has:* ● Background in food services (required) ● Proven experience in volunteer coordination, preferably within a non-profit with the ability to motivate and coach ● Flexibility in working occasional evenings or weekends ● Ability to read, speak and write English fluently ● ServSafe Manager Certification, or become certified within 6 weeks of hire.

● Proficient to excellent computer skills (ie: Outlook or GMail, Spreadsheets, Publisher, Google Workspace) ● Personal transportation for use on the job, a valid California Driver’s License, Auto Insurance and DMV record that is acceptable to Spectrum and Spectrum’s Insurance carrier ● Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups ● Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities ● The ability to pass a human performance evaluation (physical abilities test) *Nice to Have:* ● Associates degree preferred ● Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese) ● Ability to drive a Spectrum van for outreach purposes ● Experience in social media, marketing, advertising and communications ● A deep understanding of Alameda County and how to engage volunteers *Dress Code* All ServSafe rules must be followed including: ● Fingernails are to be kept short.
