There are many opportunities for Secretary - Journey Level employees to advance to Secretary - Advanced Level after satisfying the requirements.
There is currently one (1) vacancy in the Risk Management Department and three (3) vacancies in the Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD), however, the Secretary Journey Level classification is used throughout the County in various departments.
Incumbents are experienced in performing a variety of secretarial work under general supervision.
This position typically reports to Program Managers, Division Managers, or similar classifications.

The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months and may be used to fill other clerical positions.
Minimum Qualifications Education: Possession of a high school diploma, GED equivalency or a high school proficiency certificate.
Experience: One (1) year of full-time (or the equivalent of full-time) secretarial or office clerical experience.
Other Requirements: The ability to type at a net speed of not less than 40 words per minute from clear manuscript of printed or typewritten copy.

(Weighted 100%) Hiring Interview: These will be scheduled by the department once the eligible list is established.
