Pay Range $72,480.
00 - $89,976.
00 Annually for the H02.
1 level $86,910.
00 - $107,916.
00 Annually for the H02.
2 level Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only.
Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.
Job Description We're looking for a Compensation Analyst to develop, implement, and maintain compensation policies and programs to ensure equitable and competitive employee compensation.
You will provide analytical support for compensation, classification, and salary administration activities and will interact with Laboratory management and administrative personnel to ensure compliance with Laboratory salary programs.
This position is in the Benefits & Compensation Division in the Human Resources Directorate.
This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team.
Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.
Hybrid telecommute opportunity is available for this job.
Lab working hours are 8am – 5pm PT and need to be available to work during those standard hours.
In this role you will Contribute to the administration of various compensation programs ensuring compliance with plan documents, policy and DOE Contract 44, and assist in the implementation of new compensation programs/features.
Assist in the research, collection, compilation and preliminary analysis of competitive salary and pay structure data in support of a variety of compensation analysis activities.
Contribute to the formulation of recommendations for salary structure, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) exemptions, job revisions and organizational structures.
Participate in the development, approval process, implementation, and communication of new or revised policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Respond to a variety of compensation information requests; provide guidance to internal customers on compensation programs using program guidelines and policies.
Assist senior compensation analysts with participation in salary surveys where benchmark matches have been routinely established; recommend benchmark changes for consideration, analyze and summarize salary survey data, and present conclusions and recommendations.
Monitor salary management practices for adherence to policies and guidelines, including Federal Davis-Bacon category and rate changes.
Participate in the development of the Laboratory's annual Compensation Increase Plan (CIP) request to the Department of Energy (DOE) and the resulting salary review process.
Conduct research in response to questions and data requests from the DOE/NNSA agencies.
Evaluate and approve job listings, reclassification and pay actions; participate in job audits and assist in formulating recommendations.
Partner with other human resource staff members on various activities such as job listing reviews, reclassifications, salary issues, classification practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.

2 Level Research salary and pay structure data, perform statistical analysis in support of a variety of compensation activities, and develop preliminary recommendations.
Contribute to the formulation of recommendations for salary structure, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) exemptions, job revisions and organizational structures.
Participate in compensation surveys where benchmark matches have been routinely established; recommend benchmark changes for consideration.

Qualifications Ability to secure and maintain a U.
S.
DOE L-level security clearance which requires U.
S.
citizenship.
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field or equivalent combination of related experience, education, and training.
Basic knowledge of compensation principles, techniques and data analysis principles and methods.
Familiarity with the Fair Labor Standards Act and other regulatory requirements.
Analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to anticipate, identify, resolve problems and analyze data using statistical methods and draw conclusions.
Effective interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential data with tact, discretion, and mature judgment.
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills necessary to successfully document findings and recommendations.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Experience utilizing the Microsoft Office suite, including excel formulas.

2 Level Comprehensive knowledge of and experience applying compensation principles, techniques and data analysis principles and methods.
Experience conducting job evaluations, job audits and market analysis and developing/designing salary structures.
Experience analyzing data using statistical methods to draw conclusions.
Experience using common electronic data analysis tools and systems.
Experience utilizing the Microsoft Office suite, including intermediate excel formulas.
Qualification We Desire WorldatWork Certified Compensation Professional certification.
Compensation experience in an R&D environment.
Experience working with PeopleSoft.
