*MIXER OPERATOR 1:*
Sugar Bowl Bakery currently has an opening for an *experienced Mixer Operator on the 1st shift*.
The 1st shift typically works Mon-Fri, but Saturday hours may come into play when production needs increase and retail promotions occur.
(This position's primary shift time will be 630am to 245pm, but the schedule may change based on production needs with scheduled overtime days requiring an earlier arrival.
) The Mixer Operator prepares and produces dough mixes following recipes and standard operating procedures.
Follows all company, safety, food safety, quality and environmental policies and procedures.
The position will start as a temp-to-hire opening through a local staffing agency.
The hourly rate is $19.
50/hr.
*Responsibility or Job/Duty Description* * Must work at an efficient and consistent pace to keep up with production needs while operating machinery, scales, and working in various capacities and/or positions.
* Must record daily production reports accurately.
* Follow company’s GMP and other food safety and quality requirements.
* Performs scale and flow meter verification.
* Inspects ingredients before use.
Reports any quality issue or discrepancies in ingredient packaging/ labeling to Production Lead or Supervisor immediately.
* Checks equipment settings during start-up and changeovers to ensure the correct programs are used.
* Performs and records quality checks to document ingredient temperatures, batter specific gravity, and raw weights.
* Reports to Production Lead and/or Supervisor any safety issues viewed beyond his/her working area, such as standing water, ingredient spillage and/or leaks.
* Performs general cleaning/ sanitation of equipment and his/her work area.
Keeps his/her work area clean and organized.
*Other Requirements* * Must be able to *read and calculate basic math problems/unit conversion* for recipes.
* Must be able to *read, speak and understand written and verbal English*.
* Must be able to learn quickly and be able to adapt to changes required by production.
* Must be able to *read, listen to and follow detailed instructions.
* * Must be able to *lift and move up to 55 lbs (bags on ingredients/blocks of butter)* * Must be able to work with and get along with others.
* Must be able to work in a multicultural environment.
* May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
*Minimum Education and Related Experience Requirements* * High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
* Prefer at least *1 yr of experience as a batch Mixer or Mixer Operator in an industrial food production environment, preferably in an industrial bakery*.
* *Basic algebra and problem-solving skills* *Minimum Admin Skills* *Intermediate computer skills*, including the ability to use a keyboard to *enter data into Excel spreadsheets*.
*Minimum Physical Requirements* * Must be able to push or *lift 55 pounds frequently*, work entire shift while standing.
* Able to work weekends and work overtime (as needed) * Must be punctual in arriving to work.
