Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager of Nutrition Services, the Nutritional Clerk performs a variety of tasks necessary to ensure proper and timely heating and service of patient food and beverage.
Responsible for cleaning and stocking of units, monitoring safety of equipment, and quality of food served to patients.
Update patient census sheets.
Other duties as requested.
Essential Responsibilities:
Duties: Perform essential clerical duties for clinical care and food service.
Maintain records/reports, collect, maintain and communicate data related to patient dietary requirements.
Interview patients and assure menu selections are in compliance with prescribed diet order, nutrition adequacy, age, cultural background and religious practice.
Assist patients with menus with regard to diet restrictions.
Update computerized patient database with patient information, including name, room number, diet and food preference/intolerance etc.
Print tray slips for meal service and ensure accuracy of tray slips and meal trays.
Check trays and tally patients completed menus.
Complete quality and sanitation assurance checks regularly.
Assist Nutritional Aides/Clerks with tasks as needed.
Maintain records and perform other general clerical duties.
Other duties as requested by manager.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience
Minimum one year recent experience in food services preferred in hospital or skilled nursing facility (SNF).
Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Basic Computer skills.
Education
HS diploma or equivalent.
