I am seeking a personal trainer who can do a thorough i) evaluation/assessment (of strength, stamina, endurance, mobility, & flexibility) for me to benchmark where I am currently, and ii) a consultation that will help to refine my fitness regimen and practice, and am looking for a trainer experienced in body-weight training & calisthenics.
The goal of the consultation and evaluation is to help develop a plan as per my medium- and long-term goals/aims (which I will explain when we speak/talk/meet), and to assess/refine the goals and timelines for sustained progress, and maybe suggest apps, websites, and programs that can help with that - including, of course, sessions of personal training to supplement/accelerate my own efforts.
Note, I am *not* looking to lose weight, rather I am looking to *build* muscle and gain weight, so my focus is the reverse of what many seek.
I forsee this may require an initial discussion over phone/Zoom, where I can answer some basic questions any trainer would have (as I am not providing a complete fitness report or exercise regimen here, what equipment/accessories I have, or my diet etc.
, which I know is key to training and progress), and then probably two in-person sessions to do the evaluation and subsequent consultation/advising, which, depending on the result of this exercise (pun intended!), may lead to setting up personal training sessions.
Just by way of very basic information, I have been doing body weight training & animal flows regularly for about 3 years now (and exercising etc.
all my life) and made what I consider good progress, and have reached a point where to make further progress/gains (I can still putter along, but it has been hard to devise a program (or mix of programs) that meets my goals and keeps moving me in the right direction in a significant way) and to do so in a shorter time, I believe I need a thorough evaluation and further guidance from a quality coach/trainer.
Again, my goal is building muscle and gaining weight, not losing it.
And, to hone and refine a sustainable practice, that can last (hopefully) until the very end.
(I'm 56; and no, I'm not contemplaing the end :-), I just want to be fit until the very end, as I have been all of my life, and think a calisthenics-focused fitness practice is a good way to meet that goal.
)
I am looking to do this in the next week or two, so I can be on the right path for 2024.
Please respond to this ad with the following (incomplete, canned, or spam responses, or responses indicating off-handishness will not be responded to, and may be reported to Craigslist):
i) How long you've been a coach/trainer in personal training?
ii) How long have you had experience with calisthenics?
iii) Your hourly rate? And/or what you would charge to do: a) the initial consult, b) the fitness evaluation, and c) the detailed consultation to develop a plan to achieve goals and associated timelines.
iv) At least two (2) references that I can *call* to ask about your services/training (need to be recent/current clients, not acquaintances/friends)?
v) Your availability over the next week or so (01/20/24 - 01/31/24) to do this project?
vi) Your email and phone - VERY IMP - because CL has recently been blackholing some of my replies to responders (I have raised a ticket), creating a catch-22 situation - the applicant never receives my reply, so they think no one responded, and don't reach out again, and I have no idea they never got my response and have no way to contact them without an email and/or phone to verify!)
vii) The job code: MI-CAL-TRG-##-@@-2024-01-17
I can be reached after 11:30am most days, and phone may be a quicker way to discuss, so please feel free to call.
If you get VM, please leave a complete message (name, job code, time of call, call back time, etc.
) with a good call back day(s)/time(s), and your call will be returned.
This should be an interesting and fun assignment for any enthusiastic trainer, interested in the progress of their clients.
Thank you.
