*Position Description* OASIS Center International, a 501(c)(3) working with at-risk, low-income schools in Contra Costa County, is looking for a part-time Watercolor Instructor to teach weekly lessons in a classroom environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in watercolor painting and teaching, with the ability to inspire and engage students of diverse backgrounds.
This position involves instructing individuals within the court and community school system, fostering creativity, and providing a positive and supportive learning environment.
*Responsibilities:* * *Develop and Implement Curriculum:* Design and implement a comprehensive watercolor painting curriculum that aligns with the needs and skill levels of students within the court and community school setting.
* *Instruction:* Conduct engaging and informative watercolor classes for students, utilizing effective teaching methods and adapting to various learning styles.
Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their skills and develop their artistic abilities.
* *Class Management: *Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes creativity, respect, and collaboration.
Manage class materials and resources efficiently, ensuring a safe and organized learning space.
* *Communication: *Communicate effectively with students and school staff regarding class schedules, progress, and any relevant information.
Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
*Qualifications:* * Must have a passion for the arts and under-served communities * Compassionate attitude and strong understanding of youth development * Ability to work with diverse student populations, including those within the court and community school system.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices * Must have reliable transportation to get to and from the school *Required Level of Education:* * B.
