Under direction of certificated staff, Special Education Paraeducator 2 provides supervision, instruction, safety and hygiene for individual or small groups of special education students with moderate to severe physical, medical, emotional or communicative challenges in a classroom or community setting.
Performs related tasks as assigned.
*Requirements / Qualifications*
* 2 Letters of Recommendation
* Documentation of passing the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Examination or 48 semester units or equivalent to an Associate of Arts degree or higher.
* Current CPR and First Aid certification
*EDUCATION:*
* Required: Equivalent to graduation from high school.
* Desirable: Technical or college level course work or training dealing with Special Education students needs.
*EXPERIENCE:*
* Required: Equivalent of one school year of experience working with Special Education Students in an academic, social, emotional or functional instructional environment.
\*Employees who are able and may be required to speak, read, interpret and translate in both English and Spanish, shall be entitled to a 2.
5% differential allowance above current wage.
Candidates must test and successfully pass the test in both English and Spanish in order to receive the differential allowance.
