Key Responsibilities
Personal Support: Assist clients with time management and daily life tasks, fostering independence and self-reliance.
Educational Guidance: Educate clients on a broad range of topics, empowering them with knowledge and skills for everyday living.
Functional Skills Training: Teach essential life skills such as meal preparation, budgeting, and safety awareness to enhance clients' quality of life.
Community Engagement: Assist clients in accessing community resources and transportation, broadening their horizons and social networks.
Advocacy: Promote self-advocacy by educating clients on their rights and supporting their voices within the community.
Position Details
Location: The home is located in the welcoming community of San Leandro, CA.
Schedule: Currently, the position covers five nights a week from 9 PM to 9 AM, with additional hours available for those interested in full-time employment.
Animal Lovers Welcome: Candidates must be comfortable around pets, as a Jack Russel is part of the household.
What We Require
Experience: Minimum of two years' experience working with adults with disabilities, preferably in a community setting.
Communication Skills: Fluency in American Sign Language is essential for effective communication with our clients.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the unique needs of our clients.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong report writing abilities.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $20.
80 per hour, with the opportunity for full-time hours and comprehensive benefits.
