The Model Bakery, which started in St.
Helena (Napa Valley, CA) is opening it's 4th retail bakery/cafe in downtown Walnut Creek.
We are famous for our English Muffins which have been featured on Oprah's Favorite Things List 4 times! We will also have a production bakery at this location and are looking for a Head Chef to oversee the food production.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team.
As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, managing the culinary team, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all activities in the kitchen
- Develop and create new menu items
- Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper food handling techniques
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Collaborate with other departments such as catering and dietary to meet customer needs
- Plan and execute banquets or special events
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Extensive knowledge of food service industry standards and practices
- Proficient in inventory control and cost management
- Excellent culinary skills with a focus on creativity and innovation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
