Supervising Teacher I
Career Center/Transition Program Supervisor

Location: California School for the Deaf, Fremont CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT
Monthly Salary: $7,172 – $9,897 base salary OF EDUCATION
+ $200 bilingual pay
+ $700 recruitment & retention
Salary Range: $96,864 – $129,564 annually
DUTIES
Provide instructional supervision to assigned staff for the improvement of career center/transition services and
student achievement to assigned teachers and teaching assistants.
Provides leadership in continuous program
development and implementation, assessment and revision.
Trains staff and coordinates the daily TPP
activities and special events.
Lead the Real World (RW) Program and ensure ongoing support for students in
RW Program.
Conducts weekly faculty meetings.
Coordinates professional development activities and the daily
program activities.
Performs administrative tasks related to department communications, transcripts/report
cards, achievement testing, Individual Transition Plans (ITP), senior exit meetings, budget and contracts,
emergency preparation and response activities, support staff schedules, events, and projects.
Participates on
committees related to student and program issues.
Works effectively with students, staff, parents and
community agencies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1) Possession of a California Standard Teaching Credential, authorizing the holder to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing
students
2) Possession of, or eligible to obtain the valid California Administrative Services Credential is required for this position
3) A combination of five years experience in teaching and mentoring teachers
4) Keen understanding of career planning, academic counseling, and/or transition planning services for students
5) Education and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: working with students from a diverse background,
bilingual education, learning differences, team teaching, transition, or project-based instruction
6) Respect for cultural diversity
7) Proficiency in American Sign Language and written English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1) Experience with grant reporting and compliance

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
