Facebook is seeking a leader that is experienced in managing complex, cross-functional, design and engineering programs for mission critical facilities to become part of our Data Center Strategic Engineering & Design team.
The successful candidate will possess strong systems knowledge in architectural design, cooling topologies, and electrical systems as well as how these systems are constructed and how they interact with the hardware inside the operational space.
This candidate will lead and contribute to a lean team of technical program managers delivering strategies that enable the future of Facebook’s critical infrastructure.

The Facebook Data Center Strategic Engineering team endeavors to be the benchmark of innovation for the data center industry and improve reliability, safety and efficiency through innovative solutions, enabling Infrastructure teams to excel in achieving their goals.
Manager, Engineering Program Management, Major Programs Responsibilities: Lead a lean team of Technical Program Managers, aligning the strategies of multiple major programs, guiding the team through complex shifts in direction, and ensuring that the decisions and direction tell a unified story and roadmap Manage cross-functional program design projects covering a range of technical domains (electrical/mechanical/structural engineering, architectural design, data center construction, network systems, hardware systems, capacity management, etc.
) from concept through to completion.
Communicate and collaborate with key leaders and stakeholders across Infra Data Center teams to share, develop and execute on Facebook's data center design/deployment strategies to meet the company's growing fleet of international and domestic data centers Drive solutions to complex problems: develop clear problem statements, project requirements, milestone schedules, and documentation to support decision-making and facilitate implementation and construction.
Report and drive alignment and decisions from leadership across multiple organizations effectively communicate complex technical content to stakeholders and partners with diverse/varied technical backgrounds.
Interface with Architecture, Electrical/Mechanical/Structural Engineering, Facilities, Construction, Network, Cabling, Security and other business owners to define projects and assess impacts across the organization and the lifecycle of the data center.
Conduct weekly meetings with direct reports to provide feedback and assist in addressing concerns and removing roadblocks Help develop and guide career path plans for direct reports Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions.
Drive continual improvement of productivity.
Identify areas of risk, quantify those risks, and develop mitigations with subject matter experts within the organization.
Travel to data center sites for building relationships with partner teams, as required (5% - 15% travel) Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, electrical engineering, construction engineering, or equivalent job experience.
10+ years of experience as a technical leader developing data center design, construction, operations, and maintenance or similar experience in mission critical and/or technical facility projects Project/program Management: Experience coordinating multiple consultant and contractor teams Cross-discipline knowledge of complete critical facility systems and design & construction cross-discipline knowledge of pre-construction services Experience with new builds, retrofits, and operational facilities Troubleshooting and analytical skills and experience providing solutions to complex projects under pressure Experience in building trusted relationships and collaborating with immediate team, external stakeholders and vendors to influence decisions for the benefit of the business Organization and communication experience with skill at communicating technical details to all organizational levels Working knowledge of the data center technology stack: computer, network, storage, and software architectures Preferred Qualifications: General knowledge of high/medium voltage (115kV/230kV/345kV) substation designs and distribution systems (12kV/34kV), mission critical power distribution, UPS, & PDU, direct evaporative cooling, chilled water, Dx, HVAC systems, and DDC & PLC based building management/automation systems General knowledge of CSLA disciplines including civil - underground utilities, understanding grading challenges and solutions, water retention, structural steel packages for mill orders, gravity and lateral systems, geotechnical engineer for foundation design, landscape - site features, paving & parking, pedestrian accesses, arch - building envelope construction, mission critical building types including integral mechanical, electrical, and networking systems, master-planning of large campuses, and workplace and interiors Master’s degree in Architecture or Engineering About Meta: Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
