Director of Corporate Strategy
Overview:
A key member of Nextracker’s strategy team, the Director of Corporate Strategy works closely with senior leadership to help develop, manage, and execute the company’s strategy and to evaluate and catalyze organic and inorganic growth opportunities to achieve near/mid/long-range objectives.
The position requires strong business acumen, a thorough understanding of industrial/ B2B market ecosystems, a strategic mindset, and financial modeling skills.
This full-time professional position is based out of Nextracker’s Fremont, California headquarters and reports to the Chief Strategy Officer.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution
Support the annual strategic planning process, including information gathering, strategic assessments, and design of planning sessions and workshops
Help formulate, document, and refine strategic plans (covering topics such as market entry/ expansion, product and business model innovation, and other growth strategies) and action plans/metrics in conjunction with senior leaders at corporate and functional levels
Partner with stakeholders across the organization to ensure ongoing alignment of strategies and execution activities and to surface organizational synergies and constraints
Manage quarterly & annual corporate strategy execution processes by monitoring and communicating progress through executive dashboards; identify opportunities to improve communication and alignment across organizational levels
Generate Strategic Insights & Identify Growth Opportunities
Develop/share knowledge and assessments of industry developments/trends and competitive dynamics to determine how the company should prepare or respond and to inform executive decision-making
Develop a deep understanding of key current and future drivers of business performance to inform ad-hoc analyses and recommendations
Oversee development of strategic hypotheses and validate them through targeted primary and secondary research and analysis
Develop strategic insights that unlock potential value; translate insights to inform buy/build/partner and market-entry/ expansion decisions
Identify and prioritize organic and inorganic business opportunities to fill gaps and/or complement existing offerings based the company’s strategic goals, competitive position, and internal capabilities
Evaluate Strategic Opportunities & Support Corporate Development
Evaluate growth opportunities by developing business cases that clearly frame objectives, issues and challenges, and articulate compelling, insightful findings, conclusions, and recommendations
Develop financial models, scenario comparisons and related analyses to support business cases and executive decision making
Originate, cultivate, and help execute on external partnerships, development agreements, and joint ventures
Partner with senior leadership to identify and execute on M&A, intellectual property, and asset purchase opportunities
Support opportunity, strategic fit, synergy potential, and risk assessments of identified partners and acquisition targets
Project manage internal and external teams to support the detailed evaluation and due diligence of potential transactions
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA strongly preferred
[7+] years of work experience with growing levels of responsibility in strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, and/or corporate development roles
Experience managing teams in a professional services engagement manager and/or corporate strategy role a strong plus
Strong business acumen and well-honed strategic analysis, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills with the ability to synthesize insights to drive alignment and outcomes
Familiarity with industrial/ B2B ecosystems; energy generation-sector knowledge a strong plus
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Proven ability to build collaborative relationships, manage stakeholders with differing opinions, resolve conflicts, drive collective analysis and decision-making to achieve meaningful outcomes
Experience with executive-level engagement, senior executive visibility and presentations, and ability to partner with key leaders on strategy execution
Accountable for managing and delivering on multiple initiatives in dynamic, ambiguous, and/or unstructured environments; calm under pressure
Pay Range (Applicable to California)
$169,700.
