Overview:
Nakupuna Consulting is looking for a Environmental Program Manager to be responsible for organizing, coordinating, and managing a portfolio of contracts and projects with the U.
S Department of Energy (DOE).
The Environmental Program Manager will assume responsibility of contracts, meet with clients, formulate and enforce work standards, assign contractor schedules, review work discrepancies, supervise staff and communicate policies, purposes, and goals of the company to subordinates.
The Environmental Program Manager will also oversee operations and manage staff of different disciplines to execute work within budget and schedule.
Work location is primarily the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) but projects could be executed at any DOE facility.
Responsibilities: The following summary of job duties reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
Management may assign additional duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.
Organize, direct, and manage contract operation support functions involving multiple, complex, and inter-related project tasks Manage teams of support personnel (including subcontractors) at multiple locations Maintain and manage the client interface at the senior levels of the organization Meet with client, customer, and contractor personnel to discuss requirements, provide work status, and identify additional opportunities Follow project management discipline and methodology to achieve sustainable results Hire, lead, supervise, and evaluate staff performing support services under assigned contracts Ensure conformance with program task schedules and costs through active monitoring Work with staff to ensure that they are adapting to the needs of the client and providing quality support services Perform business development activities, such as capture management, proposal and estimate preparation, whitepaper development, and conference attendance Expand scope of services to other departments at LLNL and other DOE facilities Deploy to project sites to manage aspects of field work, when necessary Prepare semi-annual progress reports for DOE Small Business office Other duties as assigned by your supervisor Qualifications: Skills/Qualifications: Able to interact professionally and collaboratively with coworkers, clients, regulatory agencies, field operations personnel, technical staff, and subcontractors.
Capable of high-quality writing for such documents as project work plans, status reports, and findings.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), proven team-building and leadership skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Project.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in environmental, biological, or physical sciences or engineering is strongly preferred.
Minimum of (3) three years of specialized experience in work related to Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) is preferred.
Also strongly desired is working experience with the DOE.
Physical requirements: The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location.
The projected compensation range for this position is $135,000.
00 to $200,000.
00 (annualized USD).
The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
