99 JOB SUMMARY: The delivery of care within the unit will be done within the philosophy and concepts/ purposes stated in the department policies and procedures.
Meeting patient care needs is our first priority in the Respiratory Care Services Department (RCS).
Under general supervision the Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) will perform all respiratory care related duties.
Sets up and administers all routine and complex respiratory therapy protocols and procedures to patients of all ages in all areas of the hospital, particularly in the ED, the Nursery, and ICU/CCU departments as prescribed by a physician.
The RCP is responsible for the application and operation of acute care ventilators used for continuous short and long-term mechanical ventilation of adults, pediatrics and neonates.
RCPs are expected to be self directed in the absence of the full-time Supervisor/Lead and or Manager.
They shall maintain all department and hospital records and enters accurate information into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Billing System for the therapy as given.

Required Qualification: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1.
Current California RCP License (required).
2.
Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP Certification (required).
3.
Graduate of a COARC or JRCRTE/AMA Respiratory Care Educational Program (required).
4.
Approved 2 year (AS degree) Respiratory Therapy program (required).
5.
Actively registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) (preferred).
6.
PALS, CPFT (preferred).
7.
2 years previous hospital experience (preferred).
8.
ED, Critical Care, pediatric, neonatal AND geriatric experience (preferred).
