Job Description and Duties Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the Office Technician (Typing) serves as a member of the clerical support for the Office of the Director (OD).
The Office Technician (Typing) is responsible for a variety of technical office and clerical duties in relation to support of clerical team and administrative services.
This position supports the OD by providing excellent customer service as the first line of contact.
The incumbent must communicate effectively both orally and in written form; work as a part of a team to provide support to the OD team and the public; understand modern office methodology, equipment, and work flow; and abide by specific office policies and procedures.
Electronic document filing and management as well as data entry.

Working Conditions The position is located in the DIR Director's Office, on the 22nd floor of a high rise building; the Oakland State Building: 1515 Clay St, Oakland CA 94612.
Our office is conveniently located in downtown Oakland near many restaurants, shops, and public transportation.
The incumbent works in an air-conditioned office building with natural and artificial lighting and temperature control.
In addition, the incumbent works in a cubicle near others in a typical office setting.
The position requires the ability for prolonged sitting and to work at a computer and on the telephone for extended periods of time.
Ability to transport up to 25lbs.
Monday to Friday; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, This position may be eligible for telework.
