Swim Operations Manager

*Patti’s Swim School* is in need of an experienced Swim Operations Manager/Team Lead to oversee and maintain operations at our private swim school in Castro Valley, California.
We are looking for a leader who has experience in management and training and can carry out the mission and goals of Patti’s Swim School.
This position is year-round, not seasonal and requires a long-term commitment.
*Swim Operations Manager Pay Rate: *$25+/hr (depending on experience and qualifications) *Swim Operations Manager Work Schedule:* Monday through Thursdays from 11 AM to 8:30 PM Saturdays from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (two Saturdays a month) On-call availability for emergency scheduling (approximately four hours per week).
*Swim Operations Manager* will need to work on location in Castro Valley and have reliable transportation.
Most hours are on-site with the exception of some remote work.
Manager qualifications are required for all applicants and prior experience will determine hourly rate.
The minimum qualifications are: 1) High school graduate (18+ years of age) 2) Proven, successful management experience (2+ years) 3) Self-directed leader, flexible, cheerful and willing to do whatever it takes to create an organized and productive working environment.
4) Must love working (and have experience) with children, parents and people with special needs 5) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and ability to relate to diverse groups and lead team members 6) Supervising Experience: 2 years+ (Preferred) 7) Customer Service: 2 years+ (Preferred) *Swim Operations Manager* responsibilities & duties include: * Plan, direct and oversee operational shifts, staff and facility * Provide oversight and direction to the staff in accordance with Patti’s Swim School policies and procedures * Manage the safe operation of open air and indoor pool * Maintain transparent communication; appropriately communicate company information through management meetings, one-on-one meetings, and appropriate channels of communication * Develop a superior staff through coaching and mentoring team’s skills * Offer basic instruction and coaching to help swimmers of all levels * Teach swim lessons, when needed * Must be a good organizer with the ability to prepare timetables that make the best use of the facility * Excellent marketing skills to ensure that the pool can meet its revenue and profit targets.
* Plan work schedules so that the pool has staff to cover all times * Organize training to make sure employees are aware of safety issues and have the right rules to swim in.
