*Job Description:* This position shall drive new business development, product/solution development and product life cycle management from concept through commercialization for projects/products/solutions assigned.
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be engaged in re-imagining business opportunities in the cold chain by harnessing the power of DeltaTrak’s patented software and algorithm technologies, and will use their knowledge of data science methodology, IoT technology, API data integration and, predictive modeling techniques to optimize customers operations and planning requirements.
In this role the BDM will lead the development and delivery of DeltaTrak technology that will support rapid integration of various data sources and lead in the development of technology roadmaps.
This is a highly visible position that interacts with all levels within DeltaTrak, external companies and customers, business partners, and suppliers.
The BDM shall provide sales enablement by creating early sales opportunities, conducting sales development, creating, and executing go-to-market strategies and programs, and establishing market definition and segmentation.
Special assignments as needed.
*Responsibilities:* • Conduct research and investigation into new market opportunities and new solution/product development including writing business models for assigned solution/products/technology.
• Develop customer implementations and use of DeltaTrak’s patented ANQC technology.
• Develop new receiver customers using our RTL solutions within the Food Marketplace.
• Develop new customers for our Business Analytics and AI solutions/product/technology.
• Responsible for defining the company software objectives for rapid API development and data integration with third-party company solutions.
• Create and develop product definitions, write ECRs (Engineering Change Requests) to specify new product requirements and solution offerings.
• Conduct research and manage competitive product/solution analysis and positioning.
• Develop and implement go-to-market programs using marketing department resources.
• Be the public voice of the company, including presenting at trade events and association meetings for the assigned products/solutions.
• Responsible for product literature content creation for assigned products including pricing strategies.
• Track all assigned projects and/or work in conjunction with company’s project manager to ensure all assigned projects are up to date weekly.
• Develop and maintain project schedules using MS Teams.
• Assist in the development of product training and education.
• Participate in Trade Events and Seminars as needed.
*Assignments Include but are not limited to:* • Go-To-Market Program – this program responsibilities includes developing the strategy and tactics needed to bring new DTI products and solutions to the market.
This includes but is not limited to identifying the steps that will be taken to introduce a product or solution to a specific marketplace or multiple markets, define the items that need to be created, establish development schedules and utilize various marketing and DTI resources to create the needed elements, management reporting and ROI analysis of programs effectiveness.
• Sales Tool Management Program – this program responsibilities include the development and distribution of sales tools and materials for all the various DTI sales teams (domestic and international).
This includes, but is not limited to, building PowerPoint slide presentations (standard corporate slide decks), authoring white papers and Solution Briefs, translating insights into effective messaging and strong customer value propositions.
• Project Management responsibilities during all phases of product development which includes, but is not limited to, o Finalizing products and packaging prior to launch, o Building sales tools, o Writing user documentation and collateral, o Market positioning analysis and strategy development, o Coordinate field trials in Phase 3 (P3) of the new product development process, o Product introduction to our customers • Be the responsible person to create and implement all new product launch plans and activities.
• Work directly with selected customers to obtain market information and create customer case studies; • Interface and work with third party companies to integrate our solutions with theirs; • Review and recommend consistent messages across all communications methods with our customers; • Creates FAB (features, advantage, benefits) documents for all products; • Develop and maintain project schedules using TeamWork; • Collect and summarize sales input on customer needs; • Write user instructions/manuals based on engineering documentation provided; • Assist in the development of product training and education; • Participate in Trade Events and Seminars as our product/solution expert; • Other assignments as needed for the company.
Skills/Experience: • Previous experience in a job position where Product Marketing was required 90% of the time.
• Previous experience in a job position where Business Development was required 90% of the time.
• Previous experience in a job position where software tools for Business Analytics and data analysis were used in solving customer problems.
• Experience in developing API and SaaS based products and services.
• Experience integrating different applications to enable data sharing or transfer; • Experience of using custom APIs; • Experience with integration tools, such as Microsoft BI, ChatGBT, MuleSoft, DataStage, HEVO and application programming interface protocols such as SOAP and REST; • 2+ years of industry experience in applying data science and modeling methodologies; • Experience in presenting to senior management internally and externally; • Excellent verbal, written, visual/presentation skills; • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills; • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-moving environment; • Ability to handle a high workload and meet deadlines; • Able to cooperate, work, and communicate with all departments of the company; • Requires 20% travel to meet with end user customers, channel, and sales; Work Remotely * No Job Type: Full-time Pay: $70,000.
