Betts Truck Parts & Service has a rewarding full-time opportunity for a customer and sales-driven Outside Sales Representative in our San Leandro branch.
We are looking to bring on an Outside Sales professional who will have responsibilities for this territory as we continue to increase TPS's business presence in San Leandro.
Betts is a family-owned company in business for over 150 years.
We specialize in parts and service work for suspensions, brakes, wheel ends, and more on a variety of vehicles.
We currently operate 8 locations on the West Coast, our truck repair services include laser alignments, steering and drivetrain repairs, Bendix retrofit anti-collision safety system installation, DOT and BIT inspections, leaf spring repair and replacement, truck suspension repair, truck axle and trailer axle repair, brake repair service, hydraulic hoses, custom u-bolts, and more!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manages territory within the guidelines of the Betts Activity Based Selling (BABS) program, including, but not limited to maintaining 3X Funnel of accounts, completing call reports, planning calendar, one-on-one sessions with the manager, and maintaining a database of accounts.
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
Responsible to update the prospect list each month and give a copy to his/her immediate supervisor.
Contacts customers and follows up on orders via telephone and personal visits.
Travels throughout the assigned territory in a company vehicle calling on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and determine truck parts needs.
Visual inspection of suspension parts under the vehicle or trailer may be required.
Some overnight trips are necessary for large territories.
Picks up parts from warehouse/service center or supplier and delivers to customers using company truck.
Parts may weigh in excess of 100 lbs.
Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
Quotes prices, and credit terms and prepares sales documents for orders obtained.
Estimates date of delivery to the customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
Prepares reports of business transactions, expense accounts, and mileage logs and turns in these reports to the Branch Manager on a weekly basis.
Works with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
Tracks stock levels.
Coordinates customer training.
Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into the Karmak computer database.
Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.
Responsible for following the proper service intervals of the company vehicle, maintaining vehicle appearance, and checking all fluids daily.
Requirements:
2+ years of successful outside or inside heavy-duty truck parts sales experience, meeting or exceeding goals.
2+ years of experience within the heavy-duty truck and trailer industry & knowledge of multiple brands of parts.
Strong oral and written communication skills & great organizational and time management skills.
Ability to build trust and strong relationships with customers and internal partners.
Self-motivated to drive sales.
Valid driver's license.
