Marketing Director – Direct-to-Patient, Liver Disease

The Marketing Director – DTP (Direct-to-Patient), Liver Disease, reports directly to the Head of Marketing and
will lead the CymaBay’s DTP marketing strategy and execution for CymaBay’s flagship launch asset
seladelpar.
This leadership role will ensure the successful launch of selapdelpar by leading innovative patient
marketing approaches, developing both branded & unbranded campaigns for the PBC (Primary Biliary
Cholangitis) community.
Primary Responsibilities
Owns the overall direct to patient strategy and oversees the development of the tactical plan for PBC DTP.
Represents the patient voice to shape the overall brand strategy.
Develops patient insights through primary and secondary research e.
g.
patient journey, patient profiles, which brings the patient voice to the overall brand plan
Leads agency relations with agency of record to develop branded and unbranded patient campaigns
Assesses & prioritizes the balance between unbranded and branded to maximize ROI
Collaborates with Omnichannel Strategy lead to develop targeted execution plan and media mix such as print, digital, social media, out-of-home, and Connected TV.
Experience in building patient website with CRM system
Effectively translates market research insights to optimize promotional strategies and tactics
Optimizes DTP media channels and mix, including digital, social, print, and television by leveraging agency expertise, KPIs, and ROI analysis.
Collaborates closely with cross functional teams to ensure coordinated efforts that align with rand strategy and champions the voice of the consumer in broader cross functional initiatives
Closely manages integrated promotions and media budget and prioritizes execution effectively
Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and policies
Competencies
High performing DTC/DTP marketer with the ability to set a vision and provide direction across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Track record of successful pharma/biotech patient/consumer marketing
Prefer an entrepreneurial thinker who is confident working within a fast paced start-up environment
Analytical thinker who can develop, interpret and guide tactical insights, measurements, and ROI evaluations to optimize executions and tactical plans.
Proven leadership skills with an ability to set a vision, to lead change, and to lead and mentor others are required.
Possess excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and
drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures, and disciplines.
Excellent communication skills, highly competent presenter, able to gain credibility, engender trust and influence all levels, strong partnering skills, bias for action and tangible results
Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and implement multi-dimensional marketing and business plans.
Superior project management skills and effective at directing and overseeing multiple projects/priorities.
Experience with complex media budget management.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Newark, California is $220,000 -
$250,000.
The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that
may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of
experience within the industry, education, etc.
