Provides assistance in the maintenance department, primarily with preventative maintenance activities and light mechanical duties.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Lubricate machinery, equipment and vehicles according to the preventative maintenance program
* Replace tire and wheels on facility equipment
* Change air, oil, and fuel filters on machinery and equipment
* Replace worn or damaged hoses
* Clean mechanical parts
* Assist with basic maintenance tasks
* Perform shop housekeeping
* Replace burned out lights in the facility and on vehicles or equipment
* Other duties as assigned
*KNOWLEDGE and/or EXPERIENCE*
* Knowledge of methods and techniques in the maintenance and repair of vehicles
* Experience with tire and wheel installation (mount, rotate, and replacement of tires/wheels)
* Knowledge of job safety and potential hazards
* Must be able to understand, read, write, and speak English
* Must be able to operate a computer
*PHYSICAL DEMANDS*

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk, push, pull, stoop, crawl, lift or crouch.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move 10 to 50 pounds.
Some tasks require the occasional lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds.
The individual must be able to climb ladders and structures.
Must have good vision and hearing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and household and commercial waste.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
*SAFETY*
The individual must wear the company required safety equipment and any other additional personal protective equipment that is deemed by the company to make the work environment safer.
There is an additional strong emphasis on the application of lockout/tagout procedures.
