What to Expect Apply technical skills to troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install mechanical & electrical systems, building systems, utility generation equipment, providing optimal support to all manufacturing operations.
Use software tools to capture data, track downtime and plan work.
Evaluate and assist in development and enhancement of Preventive Maintenance program, improvements to equipment functionality and integrity, and safety programs.
Work closely with engineers to sustain, improve or modernize equipment.
What You’ll Do Work with a team of engineers and maintenance technicians to maintain, operate, diagnose, analyze, and repair production critical facilities systems and related equipment, including compressed air, dust collection, process cooling water, stormwater, and trade waste pumping systems Identify and execute modernization and continuing improvements on responsible equipment Evaluate and improve work practices and preventative maintenance procedures for safety, efficiency, capacity, and operating cost Ensure all operations are executed with highest level of planning and safety to prevent injuries and downtime Monitor and support sub-contractors in performance of work Maintain a clean and safe work environment through the application of 5S principles Generate failure reports and corrective measures on major incidents to decrease and prevent failures Interact with customers to understand requests or concerns with professional, informative, and responsive communication Ensure an adequate on-hand spare parts inventory or lead-time system in place to support responsible equipment Respond to Plant emergencies as directed What You’ll Bring 5+ years of experience in any combination of design, construction, commissioning, or maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing or Manufacturing systems in a manufacturing (or equivalent) environment.
Hands-on maintenance experience is preferred.
Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all levels of management; must have high degree of initiative, ability to work with minimal supervision, and the ability to work alone and effectively with other people Ability to successfully identify, plan and execute small projects Provide good communication skills written and verbally Ability to consult manuals, read and interpret circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics Understand and enforce code compliance throughout the Facilities scope of operations Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite specifically Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint Extensive training in safety practices and able to assess tasks/situations to determine what equipment is needed and develop/communicate procedures necessary to accomplish a task while ensuring worker safety Ability to enforce and follow all safety rules and regulations Demonstrated technical understanding of the repair and maintenance of industrial HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for 8+ hours per day, wear air purifying respirator as needed for specific tasks Ability to lift at least 10 -20 lbs on a regular basis, perform repetitive hand and wrist motions and sometimes may have to twist and bend body Ability to climb ladders/stairs, Work in loud environment.
Must be able to discern audible alarms Ability to design, fabricate and build basic and/or complex structures, supports or framework in the execution of daily tasks Ability to perform safe rigging procedures for lifting or installing various equipment Perform and the ability to properly isolate, rig and remove components safely in proper sequence to maintain, troubleshoot or demolish equipment/systems Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company Ability to be resourceful and get the job done safely under pressure or tight timelines Safety Certifications a plus (OSHA30) Welding Certification a plus Understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS) interfaces and devices, as well as familiarity with Automated Logic, Siemens controls, and similar controls systems a plus.
