Meta is seeking an Electrical Engineer experienced in the design and operations of Critical Facilities to become part of our Data Center Engineering team.
Our data centers are the foundation upon which our software operates with efficient ease.
Building and operating data centers the "right" way from the day they go live is synonymous with ensuring capacity availability and capital conservatism.
The Meta Data Center Engineering team endeavors to be the benchmark of innovation for the data center industry and improve reliability, safety and efficiency through innovative solutions, enabling Infrastructure teams to excel in achieving their goals.
Electrical Engineer, Data Center Engineering Responsibilities: Lead the development of conceptual designs of data center electrical infrastructure for improved capital efficiency, speed to market, and operations Create and drive pilot or proof of concept projects to evaluate benefits and feasibility of the solution for broader deployment Cross-functional collaboration with other Meta teams including Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Network Engineering and Capacity Engineering and Analysis Provide technical due diligence review and evaluation for the data center site selection process Develop strong industry relationships with other data center peers and organizations to remain current on industry trends and future directions Travel domestically and internationally to data center sites for engineering studies, electrical systems audits, and collaboration with local teams as required Minimum Qualifications: BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent 8+ years experience in electrical systems design, construction, operations, and maintenance Electrical Professional Engineer registration Experience in high voltage substation design, medium voltage distribution systems, mission critical power distribution, generators, UPS, PDU, and Building Management System Experience with industry standards, building codes and safety standards including NEC, NETA, ANSI, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, UL, UFC and UBC Experience in construction process and cost estimating process Cross-discipline experience with complete critical facility systems Troubleshooting and analytical experience Experience providing solutions to complex projects under pressure Presentation and communications experience Preferred Qualifications: Large and complex system design experience, including campus systems Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering Research & Development experience including concept, design, modeling, prototyping, testing, and production support Experience within the data center technology stack: computer, network, storage, and software architectures Experience with availability and reliability studies, statistical analyses, and data science techniques About Meta: Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
