Director, Strategic Product Industrialization PLEASANTON, CA, UNITED STATES Responsibilities include but not limited to: Provides global leadership for high impact strategic NPI programs Establish localized teams of cross-function domain experts to supplement R&D Team and SBU Product Management Focus on DFM, supply chain scale, automation, yield, cycle time and other disciplines in the NPI conversion to MP phase Partner with SBU, Operations and Finance to establish multi-year efficiencies targets and quantitative results tracking against those targets Design, build, and improve Excelitas manufacturing operations by applying industrial engineering principles, operations research, and theory of constraints Develop and deploy “Industrialization Best Practices Playbook” Key interface between R&D and Manufacturing in all phases of our development cycle Ensure key data, specifications and measurement of critical design and manufacturing characteristics are defined, accurately measured and repeatable Ensure NPI manufacturability and readiness in all elements of the NPI process including Requirements: Typical, strong candidates for this role possess a majority of the below attributes: Extensive background in overseeing NPI processes transition to mass manufacturing for various OEM/Consumer products, such as semiconductor devices, automotive, consumer electronics, and others: Provide New Product Introduction (NPI) guidance to support the development of our in-house designed components and assemblies to meet product and timeline requirement Participate in design review meetings to help guide product development by advising the cross-functional team on device manufacturability, assembly flow, and test and fixture requirements to meet financial goals Interface across our organization to help drive awareness for manufacturability in development activities Drive manufacturing BOM transition to align with mass manufacturing and supply chain needs Support Cross Functional teams in demand planning, forecasting, and budgeting of NPI products through ramp and mass production Coordinate internally with SBU, R&D, Finance, and Operations to assure NPI COGS are released, report on costs of NPI builds and mass manufacturing Experience with phase gate qualifications, including, but not limited to: EVT (Engineering Validation Testing), DVT (Design Validation Testing), and PVT (Production Validation Testing) BS/MS in science/engineering with a demonstrated academic record of excellence.
Candidate must be highly proficient (business and technical) in written English 7-12 years of solid engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, esp.
in process engineering (unit process or integration), equipment engineering, and hardware engineering, preferably in the semiconductor/photonics industry Demonstrated track record to summarize complex data sets for technical and non-technical audiences including high proficiency in data visualization Demonstrated track record to rapidly analyze and solve complex engineering issues by pursuing a focused solution path with a clear understanding of the point of diminishing returns Experience in lean six sigma/theory of constraints continuous improvement projects in a high-volume manufacturing environment; embodies the culture and lives by it Proficient in statistical analysis and data visualization towards problem solving and influencing clear, objective, decision making Highly self-motivated and self-directed with demonstrated ability to work well with people; have strong inter-cultural intuition and able to disagree and commit Strong verbal and written communications skills: from extemporaneous, freestyle discussion to structured synthesis of detailed technical reports to executive level distillation, having the ability to connect to business ROI Willingness to travel up to 35% to sites in Europe, North America, and Asia Benefits start day 1: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Paid Time Off, Holiday Pay, Tuition Reimbursement, Long-term and Short-term disability Pay Range: $180,000.
00 - $210,000.
00 per year, depending on experience.
