*Job ID 16225* - A lovely family in the Maxwell Park neighborhood is seeking a part time caregiver for their polite and old fashioned 82 year old mother to start in January 2024.
Care is needed long-term on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11am-4pm.
The client loves her dog Rex, playing Scrabble, telling stories and jokes, watching her tv shows, and conversing with people about their personal lives.
She has Alzheimer’s and may need multiple reminders at times, but is overall independent with her daily living.
She has poor balance and will use a walker occasionally.
However, if the client is not using her walker, the provider will need to walk with her in case assistance is needed to hold the client under her arm while walking.
The client is pre-diabetic and the family limits sweets and aims for healthier food options.
She is not very receptive to receiving care and may tell you she doesn’t need help, however, she will not be rude or hostile about it.
There is a small/medium sized friendly 30 pound dog in the home named Rex who will get excited when meeting new people.
Rex will go on walks with the client and the provider will be responsible for putting on the dog’s harness and picking up Rex’s messes during that time only.
There will be a housekeeper in the home every other Thursday who you may cross paths with.
The client’s daughter and grand-daughter will be in the home at times as well.
A great candidate will be engaging, open to talking about themselves, enjoy playing word games and be understanding.

*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Cooking dinner for client; following a recipe via meal plan/kit
* Engaging with client; playing Scrabble
* Tidying up kitchen/washing dishes that were used while cooking
* Walks with client and Rex
*REQUIREMENTS:*
* Must have a minimum of 2 years of paid professional caregiving experience
* Must be UTD on CPR certification or willing to renew prior to start
* Must be eligible to work in the U.
S.
* Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and willing to show proof
* UTD on flu vaccine is preferred, but not required
* Must be comfortable with small friendly dogs
* Must be comfortable wearing a mask if self or client is not feeling well
* Must speak English
