TEACHING ASSISTANT & LEAD TEACHER POSITION
The TEACHING ASSISTANT position is a great part-time job for anyone who is at least 18 years old and loves working with children.
The LEAD TEACHER position requires someone who is outgoing and confident in managing a classroom of approximately 20 students (with the help of a teaching assistant).
The candidate must have demonstrated leadership/teaching experience, excellent communication skills, a positive and energetic attitude, and a college degree or ECE units.
Our staff includes college students, mothers, retirees, school teachers, and professionals who enjoy helping elementary and middle school-age students.
This is also a good job for college students studying fields related to youth such as education, teaching, social services, psychology, etc.
DUTIES:
Help students in grades K-8 complete their homework assignments during the school year
Need to be comfortable explaining math and English concepts to elementary school students
Supervise children at play and snack time to keep them safe and healthy
Grade worksheets, greet parents, serve snacks, answer the phone, and help clean the facility
Lead special enrichment and fun workshops during school breaks and summer camp
Work collaboratively with other staff members
Provide friendly and excellent customer service to families
QUALIFICATIONS:
Love working with children
High school degree minimum
Previous experience working with youth
Prefer some college units or ECE units
Strong English speaking and reading skills (Mandarin experience is optional)
Prefer applicants who live within 15 minutes of our center
All applicants must pass a background check and TB clearance
LEAD TEACHERS must also have demonstrated leadership/teaching experience with a college degree and/or ECE units
HOURS:
During the School Year: Must be available to work a 3 to 4-hour shift between 2:00 p.
m.
– 6:30 p.
m.
on Mondays through Thursdays.
There are also opportunities for additional hours on Friday afternoons, school breaks, early release days, and summer camp full days.
Summer: Morning shifts are 4 to 6 hours long between 7:30 a.
m.
and 1:00 p.
m.
on Mondays through Fridays.
Afternoon shifts are 4 to 6 hours long between 12:30 p.
m.
and 6:30 p.
m.
