Description: Position: Teen Workforce Readiness Coordinator Organization: Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro Location: San Leandro, CA (Headquarters) Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year About Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro: For over 75 years, the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro has been a cornerstone of the San Leandro and greater East Bay community.

Position Description: The Teen Workforce Readiness Coordinator at Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro is responsible for leading the planning and execution of a comprehensive workforce readiness program within the high school afterschool program.
The Coordinator aims to enhance the employability of teen Club members by providing career counseling, job readiness training, job placement services, and fostering financial literacy.
This person will also serve as a "career mentor" to Club teens, delivering individual and small group support to prepare them for employment and career development opportunities.
This role requires establishing and nurturing relationships with local corporate and community partners to enrich the workforce development opportunities available to Club teens.
Key Responsibilities: Student Engagement & Recruitment – Build and maintain positive relationships with all Club teens.
Assist with teen recruitment initiatives to increase participation in the Club’s workforce development program.
Workforce Readiness Facilitate small-group workforce development programs/activities with all participants (e.
g.
, CareerLaunch, Money Matters) Provide individual guidance to teen members about education and career pathways, resume/cover letter writing, mock interviews, personal branding, etc.
Plan and coordinate opportunities for a variety of guest speakers to attend the Club and share their education and career pathway experiences.
Plan and coordinate off-site workforce development experiences for participants at a variety of workplaces.
Plan and coordinate workforce development-related community events (e.
g.
, job fairs, job shadow events, workplace tours) Leadership – Provide effective Leadership and Direction in the development and planning for teen Club growth via workforce over the next five years.
Strategic Development – Partner with the organization’s team on strategic planning and leading key projects in support of the organization's mission and to design and implement a new teen workforce strategic plan working with key stakeholders that will guide the Club’s five-year future build out.
Family Engagement & Community Outreach – Develop an annual engagement plan that focuses on teen workforce opportunities with tangible, measured goals that includes short and long-term projects addressing key needs and interests of school district partners, families, youth, and community- based partners.
With assistance from Club leadership, build a network of stakeholders and partners who can provide knowledge, skills development, and experiential learning opportunities for members to help them secure employment opportunities.
With assistance from Club leadership, identify local organizations that need skilled employees; help develop a talent pipeline to benefit both Club teens and local employers.

Requirements: Skills, Experience & Training: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.
g.
, education, social work, youth development).
Previous experience in workforce development, career counseling, or related areas.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to engage and motivate teenagers.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain community and corporate partnerships.
Understanding of financial literacy concepts is a plus.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Physical Requirements: Applicants must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger handle or feel objects, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and pull/push.
The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
