Job Summary:
Blackhawk Country Club is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Summer Camp Counselors.
As a Camp Counselor, you will be responsible for creating a fun and engaging environment for children aged 5-14 during our summer camp program.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful country club setting while making a positive impact on the lives of young campers.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with Summer Camp Director to plan, organize, and implement daily camp activities, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and team-building exercises.
Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times, following established safety protocols and guidelines.
Foster a positive and inclusive camp atmosphere, promoting teamwork, respect, and camaraderie among campers.
Supervise and guide campers during scheduled activities, field trips, and meals.
Assist in the development of age-appropriate programs that align with the interests and needs of the campers.
Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members to provide updates, address concerns, and celebrate achievements.
Maintain accurate attendance records and report any incidents or issues to the Camp Director.
Collaborate with other camp counselors and staff to create a cohesive and supportive team environment.
Attend pre-camp training sessions and meetings to familiarize yourself with camp policies and procedures.
Schedule:
This is a seasonal position during the summer months.
Camp sessions typically run 10am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, from June 3rd to August 2nd.
No camp the week of July 4th.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working with children in a camp or recreational setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before the start of the camp).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Enthusiasm, creativity, and a passion for working with children.
